Dementia Hub Ireland has been developed by the Centre for Economic and Social Research on Dementia (CESRD) to provide an archive and testimony to the innovative projects funded by the Atlantic Philanthropies (Atlantic) and the work of their grantees that have helped to change the way we understand and care for people with dementia in Ireland.
All of this work is detailed in CESRD’s comprehensive Paying Dividends – A Report on The Atlantic Philanthropies Investment in Dementia in Ireland.
The Centre for Economic and Social Research on Dementia (CESRD) is located at the National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG). It provides transformative research and policy frameworks to support personhood within dementia care through an integrated, holistic and person-centred approach to resource allocation for people with dementia.
Through economic and social research, CESRD wants to bring about change in the way in which we understand, support and care for people with dementia.
“Because of the amount of work that has gone in the last five years we’re at the cusp of something really great if we want to do it”
Professor Eamon O’Shea, Director, CESRD
